It gives me great pleasure to inform you that MCI has now recognized Critical Care as a superspeciality. The way is now open for universities to offer this course.                                           Dear Dr Kandasamy Subramani I have seen the draft notification. Since we had applied for starting the course in our institute, probably they sent us the draft notification by e-mail. They have also recognised DM Organ Transplant anaesthesia & critical care.                                           Maybe not a bad idea to go through one extra year and be able to sit through the DM exam like our diploma post graduates do while they appear for DNB

The other problem is that IFCCM is a 2 year course whereas DM shall be a 3 year course. But that definitely does not reduce the value of your IFCCM and the experience that you have gained after your IFCCM.

                                          It is definitely good news. But I would be interested to know if our ISCCM courses would be recognized under the same curriculum. I have finished my IFCCM, would it be equivalent to the DM programmes that would be started very soon ??
